  • Also included are 'King'- 'Guaranteed 25 Yr', '14K gold filled', and a serial number '431503'. There also are four small number sets that I believe were scratched in by jewelers that serviced this watch. On the face of the watch is the name 'Record' which is the Swiss company that made it's movement. On the back of the movement, the following is engraved; 'Record W. Co', '17 jewels', '4 ADJTS'.
  • Enter the serial number, without spaces or dashes, to search the database. If multiple models appear for your serial number simply match the date with the appropriate model, as certain vintage firearms can share serial numbers between different models.
  • Serial number records are available for many of the old pocket watch companies like AM Waltham, Elgin, South Bend etc. But not so common for wrist watches. If serical number records are available for your watch, here's how to use them: You will notice that there are many numbers stamped at various locations inside and outside your watch.
  • Elgin National Watch Co. Serial Numbers. In the 1930s, Elgin began using a letter prefix to replace the millions digits in their serial numbers, so if your Elgin watch has a serial number starting with a letter, you must determine the millions digits from the table below in order to determine the full serial number. Year and Serial Number.

Seth Thomas

Seth Thomas Company Tower Clock Records, Thomaston, Connecticut.

These volumes record the tower clocks produced and sold by the Seth Thomas Tower Clock Company from the years 1873 to 1941. This project has been generously funded by several NAWCC Members and Chapters.

The documents are very large files; therefore, please be aware that they will take time to load depending on your internet connection. Due to copyright restrictions, users are requested not to print or copy images except for their own personal use. These records are also available for viewing at the NAWCC Library and Research Center.

Seth Thomas Tower Clock Installations

Thanks to a recent donation we now have a list of the Seth Thomas Tower Clock installations, both domestic and foreign. The list is organized first by state and then by country and shows dates, places, and a short description of the movement for (as far as we can tell) all of the Seth Thomas Tower Clocks. We also have a list of places where the Seth Thomas movement was replaced by an International Time Recording Master Clock between 1924 and 1927. The list was initially sent to the head of General Time after they acquired Seth Thomas and we are very excited to be able to make it available. Due to the size of the document it has been split into two parts.
